BlockBeats News, July 31st, Circle announced that the New York State Department of Financial Services has granted a limited purpose trust charter to its subsidiary Circle Internet Trust Company LLC. This charter will further strengthen the company and USDC's regulatory foundation.
Circle stated that the New York trust charter reflects the company's commitment to security, transparency, and compliance standards. In 2015, Circle became the first company to receive the New York State Department of Financial Services BitLicense and has since established a long-term regulatory relationship with the agency.
Circle's co-founder, chairman, and CEO, Jeremy Allaire, said that obtaining the New York trust charter has always been a long-term goal for the company. The regulatory clarity brought by this charter will place USDC within a robust and recognized regulatory framework as the digital dollar increasingly becomes a core part of the global financial system.
