Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix Both Hit Record Single-Day Gains

BlockBeats News, July 31st, according to Bitget market data, on Friday morning, the South Korean KOSPI index surged by 17% at one point, mainly due to a new round of investment frenzy in global semiconductor stocks, following three consecutive days of decline to the lowest level since April 7th.


Samsung Electronics rose by over 26%, SK Hynix surged by over 29%, both setting a new record for single-day gains.


These two chip companies collectively account for over half of the KOSPI index by market value. On Thursday, the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index rose by 8%, Micron Technology surged by 18%, Microsoft reported strong earnings, with a 15% stock price increase, marking the largest gain in 18 years.
