Shanghai Asterion Confirmed as China's First Domestic Manufacturer of Immersion DUV Lithography Chip Production Equipment

BlockBeats News, July 31st, according to Reuters, Shanghai Micro Electronics Equipment (AMEC) has been confirmed as the manufacturer of China's first domestically produced immersion DUV chip manufacturing tool. The company plans to produce about 5 tools in 2026 and around 20 tools in 2027, which will be delivered to SMIC, Huahong, Changxin, etc.

Furthermore, according to the AI Futures Project, a non-profit organization founded by former OpenAI researcher Daniel Kokotajlo and others, the company's first mass-produced 7nm lithography machine is expected to be completed by 2038.
