Samsung SDS is collaborating with Dunamu to advance stablecoin infrastructure and AI payment services

BlockBeats News, July 30, according to Yonhap News Agency, Samsung SDS is currently cooperating with Upbit's parent company Dunamu in the digital asset field. The two parties are discussing various directions, including stablecoin infrastructure, virtual asset financial system integration, and AI-based next-generation payment business. They plan to further clarify the specific business models.


Samsung SDS CEO Lee Jun-hee stated that the company's equity investment in Dunamu is not merely a financial investment but a strategic investment to enter the digital asset infrastructure business. The two parties intend to leverage Dunamu's blockchain operation experience and Samsung SDS's capabilities in IT services, AI, cloud computing, and security to strengthen the digital financial infrastructure business.


In the second quarter, Samsung SDS saw a 5.9% year-on-year increase in revenue to 3.7178 trillion Korean won, and a 0.7% year-on-year growth in operating profit to 231.8 billion Korean won. Among them, cloud business revenue increased by 17% year-on-year to 7.794 trillion Korean won, with a 75% year-on-year growth in external cloud business revenue.


The company also plans to expand its AI infrastructure scale from the current 110 megawatts to over 230 megawatts by 2029, and further increase the overall scale to over 800 megawatts in 2031, including design, construction, and operation businesses.
