According to PolyBeats monitoring, on the prediction market Polymarket, 11 minutes ago, a new account placed a $933 bet on "Will Base launch a token by September 30, 2026?" choosing "Yes," with an average buy-in probability of 6.5%, causing the probability of "Yes" to increase from 3.8% to 6.6%.
On July 28th, Base Build announced the launch of Verify Onchain on the Base Sepolia testnet. This tool enables the identification of the same real-world user-controlled wallets through stable identity hashing, allowing applications to enforce a "one real user, one claim" rule in smart contracts.
This equips Base with infrastructure more suitable for large-scale, low-whale distribution: project teams can limit claims based on real-world identity, configure governance eligibility, or allocate incentives based on reputation. However, Verify Onchain is a general tool for the entire ecosystem and does not imply that Base has confirmed any airdrop or network token; Base's prior public statements regarding this capability also positioned it as an identity framework to prevent rewards from being mass-collected by multiple wallets.
Base founder Jesse Pollak had previously indicated in September 2025 that the team was "exploring" a network token, stating it would be launched on Ethereum and involve collaboration with regulatory bodies to address compliance concerns in distribution. However, he emphasized at that time that the project was still in its early stages, without providing the token's name, mechanism, distribution plan, or timeline.
