U.S. Stock Lucid Surges Over 20%, Saudi Prince Invests $129.5 Million for 5% Stake

BlockBeats News, July 29th, according to BIT (bit.com) market data, the stock price of the US electric vehicle company Lucid has risen by over 20%, now trading at $7.82.

On the news front, Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal Al Saud invested $129.5 million to purchase around 19.5 million shares of Lucid, increasing his stake to 5%. His spokesperson stated that this investment was made after a recent sharp decline in Lucid's stock price. Previously, Lucid faced market concerns about bankruptcy due to funding pressure and continued losses. The company later denied the bankruptcy rumors but acknowledged hiring AlixPartners as restructuring advisors. The announcement led to a one-day plunge of 57% in the stock price.

The Saudi Prince's investment is seen by the market as a vote of confidence in Lucid's future development, helping to alleviate investor concerns about the company's financial situation. However, Lucid still faces challenges such as sales growth, profitability, and cash flow pressure.
