Scan of Polymarket’s all 104 World Cup matches: 320,000 accounts globally traded, Polymarket rakes in $54 million

According to PolyBeats monitoring, a total of 321,193 unique accounts participated in trading during the 104 matches of this round of the World Cup. Among them, 107,730 accounts realized profits (33.54%), with a total profit of $195 million; 212,001 accounts incurred losses (66%), with a total loss of $230.3 million.

Out of the 104 matches, 60 matches had a profit participation rate of over 50%. In the South Africa vs. South Korea match, the percentage of profitable accounts was the lowest at only 24.37%; while in the Tunisia vs. Japan match, it reached 72.68%, the highest percentage of profitable accounts in a single match.

These 104 matches contributed a total of $30.8 million in transaction fees to Polymarket. Among them, the highest single-match transaction fee income was from the final between France and Spain, at approximately $1.42 million; and the lowest was from the Curacao vs. Ivory Coast match, at only $6,700—this match also had the lowest transaction volume among the 104 matches, at $16.6 million.

In addition to the 104 regular match-related markets, Polymarket also had 237 cross-match trading events covering categories such as "World Cup Champion," "Individual Awards," and "Event Statistics," with a total trading volume of $4.66 billion, contributing approximately $23.29 million in transaction fees to Polymarket.

The most extreme single-match profit came from the Cape Verde 0-0 Spain upset: in this match, fishalive's heavy bet on the match result earned $9 million in profit, accounting for 42.96% of the total profit from that match.
