After Canaan's IPO, CEO Nangeng Zhang promised that the scale of employee bonuses would reach $5.6 billion

BlockBeats News, July 27th, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, after the listing of Canaan Inc., CEO Nangeng Zhang's wealth surged by nearly 300%, reaching $13.9 billion.


In the company's IPO prospectus in May, Nangeng Zhang promised to transfer 767.9 million shares for an employee incentive plan. After Canaan's stock price soared by 466% on the first day of listing, the value of these shares has reached $5.6 billion. In other words, 40% of Nangeng Zhang's wealth will be distributed as bonuses to employees.


At the same time, Nangeng Zhang also promised not to reduce his shares for 10 years. However, Canaan's bonus plan has specific conditions, including distribution after three years, a distribution period of ten years, and unspecified beneficiaries. The company had a total of 19,298 employees by the end of 2025.
