Update: SpaceX has joined the open-source open letter signatories, while Anthropic remains absent

According to DataBeat Monitoring, companies such as NVIDIA, Microsoft, and Meta jointly released an open letter on "Open Weights and U.S. AI Leadership," continuing to expand. The number of signatory institutions has increased from the initial 25 to 77.

SpaceX is the most notable addition. Musk had previously only retweeted a post by Huang Renxun on X, stating, "Fully support, Jensen is right." At that time, the company was not named, but SpaceX is now officially listed.

This letter requests the U.S. government not to prematurely restrict downloadable and self-deployable open weight models and to differentiate between legitimate distillation and illicit extraction. Anthropic is still not a signatory.
