Lido Response to stETH Yield Calculation Anomaly: Issue Resolved and Oracle Upgraded, User Funds Unaffected

BlockBeats News, July 26th, the Ethereum staking protocol Lido announced on the X platform that today's stETH Rebase has been successfully completed as expected. The protocol has reimbursed the ETH rewards missed yesterday due to a miscalculation, resulting in an approximate Annual Percentage Rate (APR) of 2.29%. The protocol has also completed an update to the oracle and passed an audit. The new version will improve report processing speed and help expedite the identification of root causes in similar incidents in the future.

Regarding the abnormal reward calculation observed yesterday, Lido stated that contributors are currently conducting a root cause analysis. Further investigation details will be released on the official forum and social media platforms. Throughout the incident, user funds were never at risk. Preliminary analysis suggests that the issue may have originated from a specific edge case: a validator in a pending deposit state was omitted from the reward report yesterday, leading to a partial omission of staking rewards in the calculation.

Lido mentioned that a comprehensive post-mortem report of the incident will be published in the coming days to provide more insights into the root cause, remedial actions taken, and future improvement plans.
