Yutree Makes Time Cover, Wang Xing Predicts OpenAI's ChatGPT Will Take Another 2 to 10 Years

According to Touchy Beating monitoring, Wang Xingxing, the founder of Tree Tech, and the manned exoskeleton GD01 appeared on the cover of the August 17 issue of Time magazine. This is also Wang Xingxing's first international media interview. Time reported that by 2025, Tree Tech will ship over 5500 units, accounting for over a quarter of the global humanoid robot market, ranking first globally in terms of shipments.

Wang Xingxing believes that humanoid robots are still 2 to 10 years away from the "ChatGPT Moment." He has set a threshold that the robot should be able to complete 80% of voice commands in 80% of unfamiliar environments. Only after crossing this line is large-scale commercial use truly possible.

The current gap is still significant. When humanoid robots handle general tasks such as stacking boxes and handling, their efficiency is only 30% to 50% of that of humans. Currently, only 9% of Tree Tech's sales volume directly enters industrial scenarios, with 74% still sold to universities, research institutions, and individual developers.

Tree Tech has already achieved large-scale shipments of robot hardware. The real bottleneck in the industry is still the robot's "brain": the machine can run, do backflips, and even perform scripted actions, but when placed in an unfamiliar environment, it still struggles to understand commands and reliably complete tasks.
