According to Dynamic Insight Beating monitoring, Anthropic has upgraded the Claude voice mode. Premium users can now choose between Opus, Sonnet, and Haiku, instead of being limited to the faster but less capable Haiku.
Users can switch models during conversations and can also switch to text at any time. Claude will default to the model selected in the last text chat and will invoke the fastest version in that series.
The voice mode also integrates with Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Docs, and Slack. Users can ask Claude to check emails, reschedule appointments, or draft replies, with authorization prompts before execution.
The new version is now available for testing on mobile, desktop, and web. Free users can only use Haiku and one integration tool. The voice mode currently supports various languages such as English, Japanese, and Korean, but does not yet include Chinese.
This major upgrade focuses on model inference and tool invocation capabilities. Anthropic has not replaced the voice model, so the naturalness of speech and interruption experience may not have changed significantly.
