According to Dynamic Beating monitoring, Anthropic may release Claude Opus 5 tonight to tomorrow morning. The related model appears to have already started preparations for deployment on a third-party provider's side.
Previously, an unreleased model with the codename "Honeycomb EAP" briefly appeared on Cursor. The page indicated support for "extra high" inference intensity, per-step control, and secure fallback, before quickly being taken down. The community speculates that Honeycomb is Opus 5, but Anthropic has not confirmed this.
The new model will focus on enhancing programming, agent, tool invocation, and multi-step reasoning. Its capabilities may be close to Fable 5 but faster and more cost-effective.
