Developers Turn ChatGPT Work into Temporary VPS: 9-Core Cloud Environment with SSH Access

According to Dynamic Insight monitoring, ChatGPT Work is OpenAI's newly launched universal agent that can process documents and perform tasks in the cloud continuously for hours. Some developers have discovered that it runs on a Linux cloud environment and have successfully accessed it remotely from their local machines.

The cloud environment for Pro members features 9 CPU cores, around 21GB of memory, and 63GB of disk space. Once accessed, users can interactively edit files or install software directly using a terminal, VS Code, and Cursor.

However, this is not a dedicated server. OpenAI has not disclosed the environment's uptime, file retention policies, or service guarantees. Processes may vanish, and files cannot be guaranteed to persist fully once a session ends or the environment is replaced.
