According to Dynasight Beating monitoring, Anthropic has added a "Record a skill" feature to the Claude Cowork office agent. Users perform a task once and narrate the process as they do it. Claude captures the screen, clicks, keyboard inputs, and voice. The system then turns the demonstration into a Skill (a reusable workflow). The next time a similar task is encountered, it can be run directly without having to rewrite the steps.
In the past, creating a Claude Skill usually required manually writing SKILL.md, then organizing scripts, data, and templates. Now, all that is needed is to show Claude, significantly lowering the barrier for non-technical users to create automated workflows.
However, Claude is not the first. On June 18, OpenAI introduced a similar Record & Replay feature for Codex. Both sides have entry points named "Record a skill."
The Claude version is currently open to Pro, Max, and Team packages, accessible through the Cowork "+" menu in the desktop app.
