Greeks.live: Cryptocurrency Options Market Low Volatility May Become the New Normal

BlockBeats News, July 21st, Greeks.live posted an article stating that Bitcoin has rebounded to $66,000, which is a positive sign. Not only has it hit a two-month high, but it has also re-entered the range bound since the beginning of the year.

The implied volatility (IV) of major expiries has remained stable, with IV for all expiries this year staying below 40%. This indicates that investors have gradually adapted to this market environment of extremely low volatility.

During the sharp drop in February this year, the implied volatility of major expiries once rose to over 50%. However, for most of the year, IV has remained below 45%. This may suggest that low volatility is gradually becoming the new normal in the cryptocurrency options market.
