Hacker Attacks Kenyan President's Website, Demands 5 Bitcoins Ransom

BlockBeats News, July 21st. The Kenyan government is investigating a hacking incident on President William Ruto's official website. On July 18th, the attackers briefly defaced the President's website and demanded a ransom of 5 BTC, threatening to leak undisclosed data if the ransom was not paid.

The Kenyan Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communication, and Digital Technology stated that the government has activated its cybersecurity response mechanism and is working with relevant agencies to conduct a forensic investigation. Currently, there is no evidence to suggest that sensitive data was accessed or leaked without authorization, and government digital services continue to operate normally.
