BlockBeats News, July 20th, Bitmine's Chairman Thomas "Tom" Lee announced that the company had bought back approximately 5.5 million shares of common stock last week at an average price of $15.6156 per share to enhance shareholder value. This buyback was part of the previously approved $4 billion stock repurchase program.
Meanwhile, Bitmine increased its ETH holdings by 7,430 ETH last week. Lee stated that since initiating the Ethereum Treasury strategy on June 30, 2025, the company has been consistently purchasing ETH every week, with the recent slowdown in buying attributed mainly to the stock buyback activity.
In terms of staking business, as of July 19th, Bitmine has staked 4,917,189 ETH, worth around $9.2 billion, representing 85% of its total ETH holdings. The company stated that its ETH staking scale currently surpasses that of any other entity globally.
Bitmine conducts its ETH staking business through the institutional-grade staking platform MAVAN and plans to open the service to institutional investors, custodians, and ecosystem partners in the future. The company expects that once all ETH is staked through MAVAN and partners, the annual staking yield could reach approximately $290 million.
