Silicon Valley VC: China's AI is just getting started, OpenAI and Anthropic are in big trouble

According to Dynamic Insight monitoring, Berkeley SkyDeck Fund founding partner Chon Tang publicly expressed bullish views on Chinese AI. He stated that Chinese models are just getting started, while OpenAI and Anthropic are already in serious trouble.

His logic is simple. In the past, Chinese AI lacked computing power, funding, and customers. Now, overseas users are starting to request APIs, Huawei and other manufacturers are boosting computing power, and top teams are receiving more financing.

Tang predicts that in the next 12 months, Zhipu, DeepSeek, and Kimi will all significantly strengthen. He views the recent surge of Chinese models as just the beginning.
