Alibaba's Qwen 3.8 is set to be released soon and will be open-sourced shortly after, featuring 24 trillion parameters and performance second only to Fable 5.

According to TrendForce Beating Monitor, Ali announced that it will release Qwen3.8 and open-source the model weights. Qwen3.8-Max-Preview has already launched Token Plan, Qoder, and QoderWork, with a parameter scale of 2.4 trillion.

The new model focuses on improving code engineering and professional office capabilities compared to Qwen3.7-Max. It is designed for long-term tasks such as full-stack development, data analysis, and Office workflows. The official technical report and complete benchmark performance have not been released yet.

Ali stated that Qwen3.8 can compete with cutting-edge models, with performance ranking just below Fable 5.
