US Stocks Open Lower, Apple's Market Cap Surpasses NVIDIA, Semiconductor Index Set to Enter Technical Bear Market

BlockBeats News, July 17th, at the opening of the U.S. stock market, the Dow Jones Industrial Average opened down 0.24%, the S&P 500 Index fell 1.15%, and the Nasdaq fell 1.8%. The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index fell more than 3%, on the verge of entering a technical bear market.


According to BIT (bit.com) market data, in terms of individual stocks, heavyweight stocks saw NVIDIA fall 2.2%, Qualcomm fall 3%, Intel fall 3.5%, Microsoft fall 1%, and SpaceX fall 3%. As a result, Apple saw a slight increase of 0.05%, surpassing NVIDIA to become the world's most valuable company.


CPO concept stocks and AI infrastructure concept stocks generally fell, with AAOI and AMAT plummeting over 6%, leading the decline.
