According to Dynamic Beating monitoring, Anthropic has released Claude for Teachers. Accredited U.S. K-12 teachers can use the premium version of Claude for free for one year. The application deadline is June 30, 2027.
The Teacher's Edition includes access to the Learning Commons. Claude can read the curriculum standards of all 50 U.S. states and generate lesson plans using curriculum resources such as OpenSciEd.
It can also adapt teaching materials based on student proficiency, analyze class data, and automate repetitive tasks. Teachers can also use Claude Code and Cowork to work on documents and spreadsheets.
Teacher conversations will not be used to train models. Student data is governed by specific K-12 privacy terms. Currently, it is only available to individual teachers, with school and district versions still in development.
