$200 Hobbyist Miner Successfully Mines a Block, Individual Miner Receives Around $200,000 Reward

BlockBeats News, July 14th, an individual Bitcoin miner successfully mined the 957,382nd Bitcoin block using a Bitaxe miner costing less than $200, receiving a 3.125 BTC block reward, worth approximately $200,000 at the current price.

It is reported that the miner has a hashrate of about 1 TH/s, accounting for only a tiny fraction of the total Bitcoin network hashrate. Public Pool stated that this was a highly unlikely case of successful solo mining, demonstrating that low-cost miners still have the opportunity to receive full block rewards.

Data shows that this is the 12th Bitcoin block mined independently by an individual miner since 2026. In the past 12 months, there have been a total of 24 blocks mined independently by individual miners, a 41% increase year-on-year, accumulating a total of 75.4 BTC in rewards, valued at around $4.7 million.
