The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran has claimed to have attacked and destroyed two "non-compliant vessels."

According to the Public Relations Office of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran, two foreign oil tankers, ignoring Iran's repeated navigation warnings near the Strait of Hormuz, illegally entered the related waters, shut down their navigation systems, and seriously endangered maritime security. The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy, in accordance with relevant laws and regulations, took necessary actions and lawfully dealt with the above "violating vessels." Currently, both oil tankers have been attacked and destroyed.


Iran also stated that the security and unimpeded navigation of the Strait of Hormuz are crucial to global energy supply. Iran will continue to legally ensure the normal navigation of the strait and resolutely respond to any illegal actions that threaten the region's security.
