Trump and Iran Exchange Tough Statements from Afar, Both Sides Vow Not to Back Down on the Strait of Hormuz Issue

BlockBeats News, July 13th, President Trump of the United States and the Senior Advisor to the Supreme Leader of Iran made consecutive tough remarks on the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump stated that the United States would be the "guardian" and "guardian angel" of the Strait of Hormuz, claiming that the U.S. has been guarding the strait for free in the past. In the future, the U.S. will recover the cost of action and compensate for the risk cost of maintaining strait security. He also mentioned that the U.S. would control the Strait of Hormuz and likely "dominate the strait" in the future, stating that every time Iran sends out drones, the U.S. will respond with a fierce strike. Furthermore, Trump revealed that the U.S. and Iran had an 11-hour-long meeting yesterday.

The Senior Advisor to Iran's Supreme Leader responded by stating that no Iranian believes that Iran should abandon the Strait of Hormuz. Iran defends the strait to prevent being forced to pay "ransom" for the passage of its vessels in the future. He emphasized that the strait's strategic, security, and economic importance is irreplaceable, and Iran will never compromise on the issue of the Strait of Hormuz.
