According to TrendForce's Beating Monitor, SpaceX's SpaceXAI is set to launch its first AI model developed in collaboration with Cursor as early as this Wednesday (today). This marks the first joint R&D effort between the two companies since SpaceX's $60 billion stock acquisition of Cursor.
An internal memo to employees revealed that the two companies postponed the release earlier this week to optimize the model's efficiency. The model boasts a lightning-fast information processing speed, positioning it in some aspects to compete with Anthropic's Opus 4.8 and OpenAI's GPT-5.5.
Employees from Tesla and SpaceX had previously been involved in testing the joint model. Cursor's CEO, Michael Truell, stated during a customer event that this model was trained from scratch entirely on xAI's Colossus data center and will directly compete with models from Anthropic and OpenAI.
