Bio Protocol is launching OpenLabs, a project to support scientific projects through a USDC incentive mechanism for collaboration with AI.

BlockBeats News, July 3rd, DeSci Protocol's Bio Protocol announced the launch of OpenLabs, positioned as a human-AI collaborative coordination layer for scientific research, aiming to transform scientific ideas into funded executable projects. Bio stated that over the past few years, DeSci has demonstrated that the community can coordinate capital and data at internet speed, and AI has become a genuine scientific collaborator, capable of reading papers, running queries, formulating hypotheses, and designing experiments.

OpenLabs consists of five interconnected layers: Posts & Discoveries, Projects, AI Collaboration, Web3 Incentive Layer, and Bounty System. Regarding the incentive layer, OpenLabs plans to adopt a USDC-based earnings mechanism to fund AI reasoning and tool usage. Users can deposit USDC and choose to support projects, with the funds deployed to audited yield-bearing vaults such as Morpho, Aave, where the generated earnings flow back to the projects for computation, querying, and simulation, with the principal not at risk. As projects advance to the stage requiring real capital, they can issue tokens through the Bio launchpad or opt for private placement, following the traditional biotech path.
