BlockBeats News, July 1st, according to Bloomberg, Meta Platforms is developing a cloud infrastructure business plan to sell AI computing power and model access to external customers, thus entering into new competition in the cloud computing field with industry giants such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud.
According to sources familiar with the matter, Meta is accelerating the construction of large-scale data centers and infrastructure to support its AI business, while planning to commercialize some of its excess computing power to create a new source of revenue. As the relevant details have not been made public yet, the sources requested anonymity.
Currently, this plan is still in the development stage. Mark Zuckerberg has stated that commercializing idle or excess computing power is "still within the scope of consideration," as a potential way to monetize his massive AI infrastructure investment.
According to BIT (bit.com) market data, Meta Platforms (META.O) surged over 6% in pre-market trading.
