SoftBank: Has Executed $10 Billion of $30 Billion Follow-on Investment in OpenAI

According to Dongcha Beating's monitoring, SoftBank Group has announced that it has executed $100 billion of the $300 billion follow-on investment in OpenAI.

Previously, SoftBank had made a cumulative investment of around $34.6 billion in OpenAI through Vision Fund 2. In February 2026, it announced the $300 billion investment in three stages of $100 billion each. This round values OpenAI at $730 billion pre-investment. After completion, SoftBank's total stake will increase to around $64.6 billion (approximately 13%), making it its single largest AI bet. OpenAI continues to seek large-scale financing for computing power expansion and model development, while SoftBank is quickly fulfilling its commitment through bridge loans and other means to seize the paper gains from the AI boom.
