BlockBeats News, June 30th, Claude Code creator Boris Cherny announced that in the next version, the default setting will allow the sub-agent to execute tasks in the background. Users can discuss solutions with Claude while waiting for the background to automatically refactor code, run tests, submit PRs, and more. If the sub-agent needs to run in the foreground, a simple verbal command will suffice.
This feature is currently being tested in a small group of users. Previously, Claude Code has successively launched the scheduled task Routines (cloud-based execution, allowing work to continue even with the computer closed) and the Dynamic Workflows (for scheduling complex tasks involving tens to hundreds of sub-agents collaborating in parallel). This upgrade solidifies "background execution" as the default setting, further reducing the operational threshold.
