Opinion: The Proliferation of the Low-Cost Open-Source Model Has Led to a Decline in the Spot Rental Price of H100 GPUs and a Retreat in the Token Price Index

BlockBeats News, June 27th, Research firm Silicon Data released data indicating that the proliferation of low-cost open-source models has led to a drop in H100 GPU spot rental prices and a decline in the token price index. However, the firm believes this does not signify a weakening of overall AI demand. Instead, they point out that the large-scale transition of users to low-cost open-source models has actually driven an overall increase in computational consumption, maintaining the demand for high-end computing resources.
