Base Mainnet Upgrade Postponed Until 2:00 AM Tomorrow, B20 Token Deployment Possible After Registry Launch

BlockBeats News, June 26, Base has postponed the Beryl mainnet upgrade to June 26 at 18:00 UTC to ensure the full activation of the B20 Activation Registry. Developers will need to wait for the registry to go live before deploying B20 tokens, with the process expected to take up to about 1 hour.

Base stated that the previous approximately two-hour mainnet block interruption was unrelated to this upgrade. Beryl will also reduce the withdrawal period from Base to Ethereum from 7 days to 5 days and integrate Reth V2.

In earlier news, Base, Coinbase's Layer 2 network, officially announced the upcoming major upgrade version Beryl, with the key highlight being the introduction of the Base native token standard B20, aiming to provide more robust infrastructure support for on-chain asset tokenization.
