Federal Reserve's Williams: Current Monetary Policy Stance Supports Bringing Inflation Rate Back to 2%

BlockBeats News, June 26th, Federal Reserve President Williams stated that the current monetary policy stance is accommodative, able to bring the inflation rate back to the Fed's 2% target level, while also acknowledging the risks to achieving its dual mandate.

Williams said: "Given the elevated inflation rate, we must continue to bring it back to our 2% longer-run objective. The current monetary policy stance is fully capable of achieving this goal." Williams noted that the inflation rate is "clearly elevated" and well above the Committee's 2% target. He expects inflation data to ease slightly in the coming quarters, although significant risks remain.
