Kalshi CEO Confirms IPO Consideration, But Will Not List in 2026

BlockBeats News, June 24th - According to CNBC, Tarek Mansour, CEO of the prediction market platform Kalshi, confirmed that the company is in the early stages of planning for a potential IPO, but it will not happen in 2026. Mansour stated that considering Kalshi's current financial situation and growth trajectory, contemplating an IPO is rational. He said, "For a company with our financials and growth trajectory, the conversation has to happen. People will start asking the question. We are essentially thinking about it, but, obviously, we don't have an answer yet."

Prior to this, The Information reported that Kalshi was engaging in early discussions regarding a potential IPO, but the listing might occur towards late 2027 or 2028. Mansour did not provide a more specific timeline on Wednesday, only mentioning that the IPO will not occur in 2026.

Kalshi has seen rapid growth in the past year. By the end of June 2025, the company was valued at $20 billion; in May of this year, Kalshi announced the completion of Series F funding, raising its valuation to $220 billion. Industry observers in the prediction market sector believe that one of the reasons driving the valuation up is the market opportunities brought in by institutional traders. While retail users have contributed to Kalshi's growth, the company has begun adjusting its positioning and product development direction to enhance its appeal to Wall Street.

Regarding potential insider trading issues in the prediction market, Mansour mentioned that Kalshi has taken steps to enhance market integrity, including strengthening measures to identify traders' employers and implementing KYC verification requirements. Kalshi has taken legal action against individuals to demonstrate that its efforts to curb insider trading concerns are effective. Establishing market integrity in a prediction market platform "is a challenge, but not impossible."
