Ethereum Foundation Announces Restructuring, Initiates 20% Workforce Reduction

BlockBeats News, June 23rd, the Ethereum Foundation announced the completion of an organizational restructuring. This adjustment is the final stage of the restructuring process over the past few months and is part of its "development mission" and "funding management policy" implementation.

Through this round of adjustment, the Foundation has formed a more suitable organizational structure, business arrangement, and personnel allocation for the execution of future key tasks. However, it has also reduced 54 employees, accounting for about 20% of the Foundation's overall size. Many of them are expected to continue to contribute to the Ethereum ecosystem in an external capacity in the coming weeks.

The EF currently has five clusters covering different work areas—Protocol, Access, User, Community, and Institutional layers—and an Operations cluster, as well as a cluster composed of the management and a team directly supporting management work. Each work area requires a different approach, is responsible for different types of outcomes, and has an internal structure tailored to the work required.
