The Trump administration unveils $17.5 billion nuclear energy support plan

BlockBeats News, June 23rd, according to Bloomberg, the Trump administration announced that it will provide $17.5 billion in low-interest loans to support the construction of 10 new nuclear reactors across the United States.

U.S. officials stated that the plan is expected to shorten the nuclear power project development time by up to 3 years and help meet the electricity demand growth driven by the rapid expansion of AI data centers. As per the current plan, the first batch of new reactors could start operation as early as 2035.

If the project moves forward, this will be one of the largest nuclear power expansion plans in the United States in recent years, reflecting the country's accelerating efforts to develop energy infrastructure to support the growing electricity needs of artificial intelligence, data centers, and advanced manufacturing.
