Trump: Agreed to Keep the Strait of Hormuz Open, No Longer Implementing Naval Blockade

BlockBeats News, June 23rd, US President Trump posted on social media, stating, "Iran has fully agreed to allow the highest level of nuclear inspections in the future (unlimited in time), which will ensure the integrity of the nuclear issue. If they do not agree to this, there will be no further negotiations."

Based on this and other significant concessions made by Iran, I have agreed to keep the Strait of Hormuz open and will no longer enforce a naval blockade. However, all ships will remain on standby to reimplement the blockade if necessary—although the likelihood of this is currently very low.

Funds unfrozen by the US Treasury and/or sanctions lifted will be deposited into escrow accounts controlled by the United States and will be used specifically to purchase food and medical supplies from the US, including corn, wheat, and soybeans grown by US farmers."
