BlockBeats News, June 22nd - Medical AI startup Prosper AI announced the completion of a $30 million Series A funding round led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), with participation from Base10 Partners, Emergence Capital, Y Combinator, and others. Following this round, the company has raised a total of approximately $36.6 million.
Prosper AI focuses on covering the entire patient visit process through an AI voice assistant, including appointment scheduling, insurance verification, insurance company communication, and billing processing, and has already served over 150,000 healthcare institutions.
The company stated that the U.S. healthcare system wastes over $450 billion annually due to administrative processes, and its AI system can handle key processes from appointments to payments on a single platform, reducing the cost of healthcare institutions switching between different systems.
It is reported that since its last funding round in September last year, Prosper AI's revenue has grown approximately fivefold and has partnered with large healthcare IT platforms such as Athenahealth and ImagineSoftware.
Investor a16z stated that healthcare institutions are transitioning from "point automation tools" to "end-to-end process automation," and Prosper's goal is to eliminate all administrative friction between patient visits and payments.
