Standard Chartered: Market Too Hawkish on Fed, Expecting Status Quo for Rest of Year

BlockBeats News, June 22. Standard Chartered believes that the Federal Reserve may keep interest rates unchanged within the year. The market's expectation for the Fed is overly hawkish. Standard Chartered believes that the Fed will maintain the interest rate for the remainder of this year and will actually cut rates in the second quarter of next year.

According to the mid-year market outlook report released by Standard Chartered, the U.S. economy has performed better than expected; at the same time, the temporary agreement reached between the U.S. and Iran may contribute to a peak in overall inflation in the second quarter. The current situation is favorable for interest rates in emerging markets such as India. Currently, Standard Chartered is more inclined to invest through stocks, but believes that for India, the future environment will improve, and the situation will stabilize.
