BlockBeats News, June 21st: The Ministry of Interior of Thailand, together with provincial electricity authorities, police, and local officials, conducted a joint law enforcement operation this Saturday in the northeastern provinces of Ubon Ratchathani, Yasothorn, Nakhon Phanom, Roi Et, and Maha Sarakham, inspecting a total of 14 locations.
The operation resulted in the seizure of 315 cryptocurrency mining rigs. Investigators found that the individuals involved were powering the mining rigs through tampered electric meters and illegal connections. The total loss is estimated to be 40.38 million baht (approximately $1.227 million), including 5.38 million baht for electricity theft fines and around 35 million baht in unpaid electricity bills. Currently, all relevant evidence has been collected, and legal action has been taken against the individuals involved.
