U.S. Intelligence: Israel Could Sabotage U.S.-Iran Deal

BlockBeats News, June 20th, according to The Washington Post, citing multiple current and former U.S. officials, several U.S. intelligence agencies have issued a warning to the Trump administration: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may take action to sabotage Trump's efforts to reach a long-term peace agreement with Iran.

Currently, Netanyahu is under tremendous domestic political pressure and has had to continue to engage in warfare in Lebanon. A U.S. official who has seen this intelligence report revealed that the latest U.S. intelligence assessment has concluded: facing this year's domestic election in the fall, Netanyahu's ability to retain the position of prime minister hinges on proving to his own people that he will not withdraw from Lebanon and is determined to escalate the conflict with Hezbollah.

This U.S. intelligence report also points out that Israel is deeply dissatisfied with the terms of Trump's peace reconciliation memorandum, as the agreement undermines Israel's core objectives.
