BlockBeats News, June 19th, according to mempool data, miners mined an empty block at Bitcoin height 954352 (a block containing only the block reward Coinbase transaction), with only 62 seconds between this block and the previous one.
Miners mine empty blocks for economic reasons, as it is the most rational choice for them. In order to maximize their mining time and avoid conflicting with transactions included in the parent block, miners cannot fill the block with transactions during such a short interval. Therefore, miners can only attempt to mine an empty block.
