OpenAI has launched Codex's "Record & Replay" feature, which can directly transform a demonstration workflow into an AI skill.

According to the Watchful Beating monitor, OpenAI has introduced a new feature called "Record and Replay" for its Codex AI. This feature allows users to demonstrate a routine workflow to Codex (such as filling out an expense report or submitting a leave request), which Codex can then transform into a structured skill for review and editing, enabling automatic reuse in the future. Users have full control over when to start and stop the recording.

This feature is currently only available on the macOS client and is part of an optional configuration. During the initial rollout phase, the feature is not available in the European Economic Area (EEA), the UK, and Switzerland; furthermore, users or their administrators must enable "Computer Use" permission to access this feature.
