BlockBeats News, June 8th. According to Bloomberg, FTX co-founder Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) has officially submitted a presidential pardon application to the Office of the Pardon Attorney in the United States Department of Justice. It has been over two years since his conviction in the FTX collapse case.
Based on information from the U.S. Department of Justice website, the 34-year-old SBF submitted an application for "Pardon After Completion of Sentence." SBF, sentenced to 25 years in prison in 2024 for the FTX fraud case, is currently still serving his sentence and pursuing the appeals process.
Prior to this, SBF had expressed "absolute hope" of receiving a presidential pardon in an interview from prison but emphasized that the final decision lies in the hands of the U.S. President. Earlier this year, Trump had indicated no immediate plans to pardon SBF. However, with the formal application now submitted, the process has entered a new phase.
