Alibaba Establishes Token Foundry Division, CEO Eric Wu to Direct

According to HuntWave Beating monitoring, on June 8, Alibaba announced a significant adjustment to its artificial intelligence business organizational structure, formally merging the Common Sense Large Model Business Unit with the Future Living Lab to establish the new Token Foundry Business Unit. The Token Foundry Business Unit will be directly led by Group CEO Daniel Wu, marking a further consolidation of Alibaba's top-level management structure in the AI field.

Zhou Jingren will assume the role of Alibaba's Chief Scientist, responsible for spearheading the establishment of the Alibaba AI Future Research Institute to explore cutting-edge AI technology. Zheng Bo will lead related AI businesses and teams such as Happy Horse and Happy Oyster, all of which will be integrated into the Token Foundry Business Unit.

This adjustment is another significant iteration in Alibaba's AI organizational structure since the establishment of the Alibaba Token Hub (ATH) Business Group in March 2026. The newly formed Token Foundry Business Unit will integrate large model development, MaaS platform, and generative AI applications such as Happy Horse and Happy Oyster.
