According to Dongcha Beating monitoring, WeChat Pay is currently collaborating with the AI entity WorkBuddy to test an AI payment feature. This feature involves adding an AI-exclusive card to the user's balance, enabling the AI entity to place orders autonomously while requiring user approval for security. The testing mechanism is currently in the early internal testing phase at Tencent, marking the first time an AI entity has been able to use dedicated funds on a third-party payment platform with transaction-level confirmation.
Within the AI-exclusive card interface in WeChat Balance, users can transfer funds in and out of the card from their WeChat Balance. The spending limit of the AI-exclusive card depends entirely on the card's balance. During the binding process, users must explicitly authorize and bind a specific AI entity. WeChat Pay prompts users on the binding page that the AI-exclusive card is the AI entity's dedicated payment card. Once activated and bound, the AI entity still requires user confirmation before making a payment.
The specific transaction process is completed collaboratively by the AI entity and the user. Taking the purchase of Q coins as an example, a user in the testing phase expresses a purchasing need in the WorkBuddy dialogue box, and the AI entity recommends and generates an order. When the order status changes to "in progress" in the background, the AI entity triggers an AI payment tool to generate a confirmation link. Upon clicking the link, the WeChat app on the user's phone will open a payment confirmation page, where the user must verify the amount, enter a password for authentication, and only then proceed with the deduction.
