Prominent Research Firm Predicts NVIDIA's Rubin to Drastically Reduce Memory Allocation, Potentially Triggering Sharp Declines for Micron and SK Hynix

BlockBeats News, June 5th, Renowned research firm SemiAnalysis released a research report yesterday, stating that NVIDIA's next-generation AI server cluster, codenamed Rubin NVL72, will undergo a significant memory configuration adjustment. To address supply chain constraints and ensure timely delivery of the Rubin rack, the individual rack capacity has been abruptly reduced from the original 55TB to 28TB. Additionally, the majority of Rubin systems will utilize 96GB SOCAMM modules instead of the initially planned 192GB modules.

Although SemiAnalysis's founder, CEO, and Chief Analyst Dylan Patel later stated that "this is not a disaster," and the research report itself did not intend to engage in fearmongering, the market reacted strongly. Micron plummeted 7.7% yesterday, and today SK Hynix of South Korea saw an opening drop of 8.32%.
