According to Perceiving AI monitoring, the Kimi Work Beta version, as a universal local Agent client for knowledge workers, has been released with the latest Kimi test version for Mac, while the Windows client is set to launch soon. Users can schedule files, use a browser, run scheduled tasks, and generate documents, spreadsheets, or presentation slides through natural language on their local device without the need to configure the terminal environment.
The development of Kimi Work deeply integrates AI collaboration. The Dark Side of the Moon engineers used the local programming intelligent agent Kimi Code to complete the client build within a week, with AI autonomously generating 92% of the output exceeding 50,000 lines of effective code. The rapid client development relies on the long-range task execution capability of the underlying Kimi K2.6 model, which supports 13 hours of continuous coding and can autonomously invoke tools over 4000 times in a single task.
In terms of core architecture, Kimi Work has transitioned from a previous command-line interface to a graphical user interface, achieving a shift from a programming intelligent agent to a general work intelligent agent. The client is equipped with the Kimi WebBridge solution that controls the browser and integrates professional skills such as website building and presentation slides from the online Kimi Agent, as well as financial, scientific research, and legal databases. Facing complex tasks, Kimi Work supports multi-agent cluster collaboration, autonomously creating teams with up to 300 sub-agents to handle tasks in parallel based on task complexity.
The current testing phase mainly evaluates Kimi Work's ability in tasks such as long artifact generation, local file processing, and browser operations. In an office scenario, Kimi Work can read local product plans and design prototypes, log into subscribed databases through the browser, analyze over 2400 user comments to generate a cross-border e-commerce market analysis report, and finally, convert it into a presentation using the PPT skill with a single click.
