Altman Responds to Anthropic's Secret IPO Filing: OpenAI Not Vying for Title of "First AI Company to Go Public," Will IPO When Ready

BlockBeats News, June 2nd, according to CNBC report, OpenAI founder Altman stated that he "just heard" that competitor Anthropic has secretly submitted an IPO prospectus to the US SEC, but he believes that there is no competition between AI companies for the title of "first AI company to go public."

Altman said: "I do think there is a competition to offer the best technology and build the best business, but going public is just a financing event, and I don't think we are currently focused on the specific timing of it." He added that OpenAI will go public when the time is right.

According to Polymarket data, the probability of "Anthropic going public before OpenAI" temporarily rose by 56%, and is now at 81%.
