Viewpoint: The largest-ever labor force transformation in modern history has begun, with approximately 24% of global jobs impacted by Generative AI

BlockBeats News, May 30th, KobeissiLetter published a market insight stating that AI is about to reshape the global labor market. It is estimated that approximately 24% of global jobs (about 8.38 billion) will be impacted by generative AI, with high-income countries facing the highest proportion of impact. Around 33% of employment in these countries is at risk, with about 6% of positions facing the highest level of AI replacement risk—these positions are usually characterized by repetitive and predictable tasks. Regionally, Europe and Central Asia are most severely affected (about 32%), followed by the Americas (about 30%), and Africa has the lowest impact (about 13%). The overall exposure of low-income countries is only one-third of that of high-income countries. The largest-scale labor transformation in modern history has begun.
